DEAR FRIEND AND PROSPECTIVE SPONSOR,

The purpose of this letter is to invite you to join us as a Corporate Sponsor for the Lexington-Fayette Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Color People (NAACP) annual Flora D. Mitchell Freedom Fund Dinner.

This year’s theme for the 2022 Freedom Fund Dinner, “Our Collective Voice Is Power,” is a call to action for our need to join together in a collaborative show of force and support as a community. This special event will take place Thursday, November 3, 2022, on the campus of the University of Kentucky in the Gatton Student Center Ballroom C. The evening will begin with a 20-minute meet and greet at from 6:00-6:20 p.m., with dinner being served promptly at 6:30 p.m.

This worthwhile community event will provide an opportunity for you as a Corporate Sponsor to:

• Increase your visibility in the community with people who may not be aware of your mission

• Participate as a valued stakeholder and change agent in a community event for a worthy cause

• Support an event that directly strengthens our ability to pay forward our organizational mission and vision to continue to effectively impact social change in the Commonwealth of Kentucky

• Help our educational endeavors through the Charity Hocker Scholarship Fund

Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the United States’ oldest and largest nonpartisan civil rights organization. Our members throughout the nation and across the globe are the premier advocates for civil rights within our respective communities. From the ballot box to the classroom, the thousands of dedicated workers, organizers, leaders and members who make up the NAACP continue to fight for social justice for all Americans. The mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.

Your invaluable service and support of the NAACP and our work as a community partner is important as we stand collectively together in the ongoing struggle to balance the scales of injustice in our fight for freedom, equality, and equitable systemic change for all. We would be grateful and honored to have you as a sponsoring partner and hope that you will consider being a major sponsor for our 2022 Freedom Fund Dinner.

Please review the enclosed packet to learn more about sponsorship opportunities. All sponsorships include complimentary tickets and additional tickets may be purchased for $75 each for general admission.

If you are unable to sponsor and/or attend the banquet, your donations would be gratefully accepted and appreciated. Please feel free to contact our Flora D. Mitchell Freedom Fund Dinner Chairperson Ms. Priscilla Johnson by email: prissy019@aol.com if you have any questions.

Thank you in advance for your consideration in being a sponsor of our 2022 Freedom Fund Dinner!

Whit Whitaker President, Lexington-Fayette Branch of the NAACP
