Contact Information for Legal Assistance

 

If you have an appointed attorney, you should work to contact that lawyer or their supervisor for assistance. If you wish to retain a private attorney, you may contact some of the referral sources listed and work out the terms with the attorney with whom you speak about their cost of services.

Central Kentucky Lawyer Referral Service

 

They will connect you with attorneys who practice in the field that relates to your area of concern and can be reached at by phone at 859-225-8644.


Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission (LFUCHRC)

They are a neutral fact-finding agency that investigates alleged cases of discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations in Lexington, Kentucky (Fayette County). There is no fee for their services. You can file a complaint with them without a lawyer and they can work through it with the party you are complaining about.

Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy: Statewide public defender system

If you are charged with a crime and being prosecuted in state court anywhere in Kentucky, call the General Phone Number and ask for the Trial Division Director’s Office at 502-564-8006.


Legal Aid of the Bluegrass 

Legal Aid provides civil legal services in the Bluegrass region. They can be reached at the Intake Number 859-431-8200 or through their website at https://lablaw.org/.
